The readings this weekend guide us to the invitation God extends to us--life with him. Since the time of St. Ignatius of Antioch (+AD AC 107), the word “Catholic” (universal) has been used to describe our faith. From the command of Jesus to the apostles before his Ascension to the present, the faith is designed to be shared with everyone. As Paul tells the Romans, they may have been pagans, but now they shared in the mercy of God. As we continue our journey toward heaven, two points are worthy of our reflection: 1) Am I headed in the right direction? 2) Am I bringing as many people as possible with me?
