How do you know you making the right decision? When there is an experience of a calmness with the decision, it is probably due to God’ affirming presence for this decision. But how many of us make decisions before taking to God first? Many operate with impulse, and disregard God altogether while making their decisions. Sometimes it is important to retreat to the desert much like the Prophet Elijah so there we can hear the tiny whispering voice of God in our lives that will help us decide with confidence. God is a God of order not of commotion. God will gently let us know with a sense of inner peace, you know it the right thing to do. It feels right. God also reaffirms through others by their positive feedback. God is a gentleman and does not leave a person feeling doubtful. However, we also know the world offers a wind, not like the one of God. It gives an uncontrolled, driving wind, that swipes a person away. A wind that is reckless. A wind that sinks the person. A wind that drives the make precipitated decisions. To decide at midnight and to try to call people in the night, it is not a wind of God but of the world. Let us pray we can tell the difference in our lives, which wind is driving us. Let us allow God’s gentle wind help our decisions and reject the whirlwinds of the world that lead to impulse.
