In today’s second reading, Paul asks the rhetorical question, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Of course we know the answer-the devil! With almost five weeks of Lent to go, some of us may feel like throwing in the towel. Perhaps we tried to do too much for Lent. One thing to keep in mind is that temptations are part of the spiritual journey. In fact, they are a good sign that we are on the right track. The devil doesn’t want saints, he wants sinners. If we are attentive, we will recognize that any temptation to quit is going against what God wants. Hopefully, that will strengthen our resolve to continue moving forward.
