In today’s gospel, Jesus gives us many points to ponder. The overriding theme, however, is consistent: His  disciples are to act differently than the general population. He gives this instruction not to make our lives more difficult. Rather, Jesus wants his disciples to be authentic representatives of Him! He showed us what he expects of us through the actions of his own life. If we do our best to imitate Jesus, not only will our lives be holier, we will draw others to the grace and eternal life that he is able to offer.
