April 17, 2021In today’s second reading, St. John writes to his community so that they may not commit sin. That seems simple enough. All of Sacred Scripture transmits the truth of our faith and is free of error when it comes to faith and morals.
However , John goes on to address the topic of consistency. If we say we are Christians, do we live according to what Christ taught? Personal opinion is not part of this equation. If my answer is “no,” then I am the one who needs to change, not Jesus!
