Today we bring the liturgical year to a close with the celebration of Christ the King. Even though we do not think too highly of Kings in the United States, there really isn’t another word to describe his sovereign authority: present for all creation, he saved and redeemed us from sin and death by his death and resurrection.
Fortunately for us, Jesus is a benevolent King. undeservedly, he offers us a reward equal to his-eternal life. Hopefully, we respond not out of fear, but of gratitude.
