The setting for today’s gospel is the Last Supper. Jesus has washed the disciples’ feet and Judas left to betray him. It was a confusing time for the apostles. Thomas’ and Philip’s questions allow Jesus to explain his mission more fully before his passion.  
   The great question Jesus asks Philip is so powerful for us, even now “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me?” With all we have been through lately, and are still experiencing, have we stopped to look for Jesus’ presence in our lives and world events? Do we still not know him?
