The Sunday following Christmas is the celebration of the Holy Family. As the great example of love and discipleship, it is easy to idealize the Holy Family and think they had it made. We often forget that they were poor, had to work to make ends meet, suffered persecution, were refugees in a foreign country and had to relocate to a new town. Sounds a lot like our parish! In all of this, we are able to associate with the Holy Family. They went through things that we have to endure. In all of this, they remained faithful to the will of God. May we follow their great example in our own families and lives.
