If you have been a member of OLV for a while, you may have attended one of our monthly Blood Pressure checks, an A1C clinic or our Annual Health Fair and taken advantage of a free mammogram, met with a respiratory therapist to learn the proper usage of an inhaler, a registered dietitian for tips to manage your blood glucose levels, etc. Nanette Byerly organizes this monthly event and enlists volunteers to provide this opportunity to our parishioners at no charge. If you are able to help Nanette with this ministry, please call the parish office to volunteer.

Nanette has also established a partnership between Our Lady of the Valley and Boise State University's nursing program. Each semester, nursing students meet at Our Lady of the Valley on Wednesdays to interact with staff, parishioners, as well as parents and students in the evening religious education program. Each semester the students evaluate the needs of our parish communities and determine a project to address a particular need or concern.
This past semester you might have been participated in their nutrition and healthy eating study group. The nursing students provided healthy (and tasty) tips for salt and sugar substitutions and developed a healthy Cookbook to leave with the participants and share with us. Check it out!
