There is so much to do to be locked up in a place because of fear and much can be done with the peace of the risen Christ within the heart. This peace is emphasized multiple times by the Risen Lord. The risen Christ is all about transmitting peace. No longer big speeches, no longer explaining parables but only offering peace. More than three times the phrase "Peace be with you" is said by the Lord in this passage when he first appears resurrected and even once when Thomas was present. This peace of Christ enables Thomas to say the greatest declaration of the divinity of Christ, "My Lord and my God." And, this peace enables the disciples to leave behind the locked doors where they were because of the fear of the Jews. May this Easter season all may experience the peace of Christ in their lives so they can break the lock of their closed doors preventing them to serve the Lord. There is great need of the world of God to break free of the fear and start sharing the good news of the resurrection. By going out of the place of fear that paralyzed them from any action, the disciples started to make a difference to such a degree that the people held them in high esteem. They proclaimed the Gospel in words and in deeds. Let us unlock our potential with peace in our hearts to do good to others that even as we pass by, they may be healed and strengthen by the peace of Christ that is in our hearts.
