In today’s second reading, things were not going very well within the community at Ephesus. The internal bickering was causing the group to split apart. Paul’s solution to the problem would serve well for our situation today: be kind, compassionate and forgiving. So often we are focused on getting ahead, winning or outdoing someone else. Like the Ephesians, it is easy to forget our basic responsibility as Christians to be other Christs. If we are conscious of our call to follow Christ, and live that call to the best of our ability, it will have a positive impact on society.
