May 15, 2021Compared to eternity, Jesus’ time on earth was less than a blink of an eye. Imagine how quickly the forty days between his resurrection and ascension would have passed for him. There was an urgency to his period: Do they understand? Will they complete their mission? Have I forgotten to explain something to them? Only Jesus knows his confidence level in the apostles as he ascended to heaven.
Yet, here we are! Even with all the mistakes throughout the millennia, we continue to worship God as Jesus taught the apostles, and as they handed it on to us. Jesus’ ascension is an important reminder that even though he was perfect, we don’t have to be. Like the apostles, we have to do our best and keep trying.
