Not everyone who comes to church comes to pray. This expression though probably not unique I have used often to express my dismay for some who come to church with less than noble intentions to cause problems. Some do not work for God but for their own interests. They have their own agenda and use the church only as a cover. Others as St. Paul says are not keeping busy but minding the business of others and he strongly reminds them to work quietly and eat their own food. Basically keep to themselves. Others the Gospel reminds will cause insurrection and division within the church. They form breakaway groups that fracture the unity of the church. They are against God, for God is a God of order and of unity. The Lord is strong in saying point blank, do not follow them. They only want to turn nation against nation, in this case the church community against itself. Still others deceive people by their words. They supposedly speak softly and eloquently in the name of God but do not know God in their hearts. Be aware of those who call attention to themselves and create a cult personality. The exterior may look good like the rich adornments of the temple and many people may be attracted to the flash but at the end there will be no stone left upon another. May God deliver us from such people who cause any and all of these problems within the church. May God give us the discernment to know when we are being led astray by these people who only come to church for their destructive convenience. And finally may God repay each according to their deeds, that the evil ones in the church may be scorched while the just receive the healing rays of the sun of justice!
