Although the Easter Season is a time of great joy and celebration, it is also time of facts. After curing the handicapped beggar in the temple, the speech in today’s first reading follows. Peter sticks to the facts: they handed Jesus over, denied him and had him put to death. Harsh word when you’re trying to win converts! However, Peter continues with facts: Repent, convert, be saved. It is easy to allow emotions to cloud our judgment. Anytime we make decisions based on emotions, we will make poor decisions when we make decisions based in facts. Like Peter, if we stick to the facts, we will make the best decision-we will choose to follow Jesus!
