Today we celebrate Jesus’ return of heaven. He must have been exited to go home after thirty-some years here on Earth. However, maybe there was a little twinge of hesitation, as well. He has been with the apostles for the past three years. He knows that they don’t catch on very quickly. Now, it is going to be up to them to carry on his work.
    The Ascension is a great example of Jesus’ confidence in the truth of this message and in the apostles/our ability to transmit it. We are here because our ancestors fulfilled their responsibility. On this feast, may we renew our commitment to do the same!
