Thank you for these wonderful months. I have gotten to know some of you and hopefully in due time all of you a little bit better. I feel blessed being at this parish. However, there are some challenges we face. When I was visiting, I thought wow this church is big, and now I know we have limited in space. We are growing thanks to you! And of course, the Holy Spirit moving hearts! But as we grow, we need some order for this growth. One of the challenges is being able to accommodate the different parish groups in our facilities. At times it seems there is one meeting on top of another happening! As I live close by, I sometimes see cars parked at times there when nothing is supposed to be happening and I wonder what is going on. Other times I have seen groups having impromptu meetings. We need a better coordination in scheduling, so that we don’t just have meetings on top of other meetings without prior approval. In this effort to better coordinate events, groups and activities within the church building I have enlisted the help of two parishioners who are bilingual and committed to our parish community to help in a position called Coordinators of Ministries. The names of these parishioners are Laura and Eduardo Schells. They will be helping to ensure parish events are planned, and parish groups are assisted in their scheduling. They will also visit each group to gather any pertinent information needed to know about each group. This applies for both English and Spanish speaking groups. Anyone who uses our facilities please expect a visit from these two members so they can better help our parish groups carry out their mission in good order and in good communication with the parish administration. I want each group visited not to feel imposed or observed but to be ministered and attended. If there are any problem areas with the group, we would want help resolve them. This visiting couple will do so much more than just making sure all are meetings are in the proper rooms and times, but it in a nutshell, they will be a ministry to those in ministry. Sounds repetitive but they are here to help ministries. I gently ask for all to please welcome them as they come to visit your group. They are commissioned by me to visit each group periodically. As this is going to be something formal, they are not coming unannounced but rather will schedule a time with the group leader. In addition, please be open to work with them with whatever information they may need from the group. As we strive to give more support to our parish groups and better schedule for the use of our parish space, I would like to ask for your cooperation.
