On this second Sunday following Pentecost we remind ourselves, in a formal way, of this “great gift/grace” (Eucharist-noun) we have received from our Lord. The precious gift of himself to us, unworthy as we are, hopefully leads us to give him “thanks” (Eucharist-verb). Jesus’ greatest desire is for us to be more like Him so that one day we will be with Him forever in heaven. Just as good food is important for us to maximize our human potential, the same is true of our spiritual life. Being grateful for this great gift will help to allow its power to transform us into other Christs.
